Mud Run Benefits Chapter 180 Honor Guard

The Dafter (Mich.) Lions Club hosted a Mud Run to benefit Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 180 (VVA) on Aug. 11 at Dafter Township Park. The three-hour event invited locals to bring their own vehicles to the grounds, where a mud pit was readied for racing.

Registration for a single run was $20 per vehicle, and the club typically attracts 50 vehicles and more than 200 spectators at $5 each. The proceeds will go toward the VVA chapter’s Honor Guard, which appeared at 51 funerals in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula last year.
