Chapter 96 Plans POW Bracelet Memorial

Vietnam Veterans of America Big Bend Chapter 96 is planning to erect a 7-foot replica of the stainless steel POW  bracelet worn by more than 5 million people starting in the 1970s. Pending collection of an estimated $17,000 in funding, the replica will be built next to the Vietnam Memorial in downtown Tallahassee, Fla.

“The idea came from one of our members and his wife, who saw one over at USS Alabama Battleship Memorial Park,” chpater President Joe West told WXTL-TV. “I contacted the executive director at Battleship Park, and she was excited that somebody else wanted to do it.”
