Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 278 will hold its 32nd annual POW/MIA Vigil Sept. 20–21 at the Korea-Vietnam Memorial in downtown Texarkana, Ark. The vigil will start at 5:15 p.m. on Sept. 20 as part of a national recognition day focusing on the need to account for all American servicemen and women still listed either as prisoners of war or missing in action.
The vigil’s second day will include a “Ride to Remember” procession of cars, trucks, motorcycles and other vehicles. Balloons will be released when the procession arrives at the memorial, and a POW/MIA memorial and recognition service will commence at 3:10 p.m. A closing candlelight ceremony will take place at 8 p.m.
