VVA and Chapter 574 Honors Rep. O’Rourke

John Rowan traveled to El Paso, TX , to present a VVA Achievement Medal to Rep. Beto O’Rourke (D-Tex.).

The congressman also received the Legislator of the Year from the Texas State Council.

Humberto Nevarez, the president of El Paso Chapter 574 , which hosted the event, said of Rep. O’Rourke: “He’s a very good service officer for us. He listens to us and to our problems, and he helped with bills in Congress [that] help veterans.” Rowan added: “He’s been a very supportive member for veterans on the Veterans’ Affairs Committee, and he’s very supportive of a lot of the initiatives we’ve been pushing at the national level.”
