Knoxville Mayor and Chapter 1078 Team Up to Lay Wreaths

Chapter 1078 Wreath

Knox County Mayor Tim Burchett is collaborating with VVA Captain Bill Robinson Chapter 1078 to launch Wreaths Across America in Knoxville, Tenn

The mayor, an honorary lifetime member of VVA, is partnering with Chapter 1078 to manage the Wreaths Across America program this year because it will be his last holiday season as mayor and he wants to see the program continue in Knox County.

The wreaths of live greenery will be placed on veterans’ headstones at Old East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery, the New East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery, and the Knoxville National Cemetery.

The chapter is holding an ongoing fundraiser, including a ‘three-for-two’ sponsorship special in which they will pay for one wreath for every two funded, in an effort to place a wreath on each of the 16,000 veterans graves in East Tennessee.
