Chapter 380 Member Named Vet of the Year

Congratulations are in order for Chapter 380 member Larry Lee Dillman of Negaunee, MI for being awarded 2017 Upper Peninsula Veteran of the Year. 

Veteran of Foreign Wars Post 3165 nominated Dillman, noting that he donates over 60 hours a month to various veteran and civic organizations.

In addition to his life membership with Chapter 380, he is also an active member of the VFW, Disabled American Veterans, and the American Legion. His military decorations include Vietnam Service Medal with Bronze Star; Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross; and, Vietnam Campaign Medal, among many others.

Dillman served in the U.S. Air Force and retired as a master sergeant after working for 24 years. He and his wife, Linda, have two children and three grandchildren.

Larry Lee Dillman will receive his official recognition on August 17th at the Upper Peninsula State Fair. Invited guests include Gov. Rick Snyder, state Sen. Tom Casperson, R-Escanaba, and state representatives, who will be there to honor his commitment to community service.
