“It’s a long overdue welcome back home for our Vietnam veterans,” Gail Evans, Caris’ volunteer coordinator, told the Herald-Citizen.
Caris is part of the We Honor Veterans program, a partnership between hospices, the Veterans Administration and the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization. The organization works with veterans to ensure they and their families get the benefits they need, including end-of-life care. Caris also recognized five Vietnam veterans currently in their care.
