Chapter 349 Members Recognized With Quilts of Valor

Members of the Vietnam Veterans of America Valley Forge (Pa.) Chapter 349 Honor Guard were presented with 12 Quilts of Valor by the Homemakers Country Quilters of Collegeville on Oct. 11. More than 200,000 quilts have been donated to veterans nationwide to date.

Handmade and personalized to honor veterans, each quilt takes hundreds of hours of work. “We didn’t serve to be honored; we served because we love this country,” recipient Harry Thomas told WLVT. “Being honored is very humbling, and we do appreciate what the women have done here.”
