Chapter 1073 Pays Respects to All Veterans

Chapter 1073

Morristown, TN, Chapter 1073 has been working diligently for more than two years to honor veterans with special memorial services at funeral homes prior to their full funeral services.

The ceremony concludes with “Taps,” during which all veterans in attendance are invited to salute the deceased.

“Anybody who wears a uniform is our brother or sister,” Chapter President Jack Weidman said. “The reason we do this is to pay our respects to any veteran. We’re averaging two to three funerals a week. We also can serve as pallbearers for graveside services if requested by the family.”

On Memorial Day chapter members placed some 1,700 American flags on graves at Hamblen Memory Gardens and Mausoleum in Russellville.
