Chapter 268 has finished restoring a long-forgotten Civil War memorial featuring Lockport, NY soldiers in time for a Veterans Day re-dedication.
The chapter received funding from over 70 individuals and organizations totaling $2, 100 to repair the monument. Work on the memorial included upgrading the monument with a new foundation, and cleaning and reconstructing the existing stones.
The re-dedication ceremony at Glenwood Cemetery will include a wreath laying, speeches, a gun salute and Civil War re-enactors.
