A New Chapter Will Sprout Up in Tennessee

Gibson County, TN

Vietnam veterans interested in forming a new VVA chapter recently gathered in Trenton, TN .

The veterans say some of the programs they hope to implement include scholarships, financial relief for veterans, holding town halls on Agent Orange and PTSD, and organizing honor/color guards.

The meeting was attended by many local and national VVA officials including Tennessee State Council President Barry Rice and Joe Aitken. Aitken has held a leadership position with Madison County, TN’s Chapter 953 , and has volunteered to serve us the interim president of the Gibson County group until the first elections are held.

Others who volunteered to serve as the first officers of the developing Gibson County chapter include Steve Mills, Eddie McFadden, Paul Newbert, and Randy Cunningham. Once the charter is granted, the new members will then elect officers for president, vice president, secretary, and treasurer or secretary/treasurer, and a board of directors.
