Lucia Viti, the author of Dr. Tom’s War: A Daughter’s Journey , a memoir of her father’s service as a battalion surgeon with the Fifth Marines in Vietnam in 1967, is at work on a second book. This time Viti will be looking at “what it was like to grow up as the daughter of a Vietnam veteran, ” she told us in an email.
She is looking for women who “willing to share the good and the possible stress associated with growing up in the shadow of the Vietnam War.” The book, she says, “will be devoted to the personal narrative of each daughter with a description of who her father was and his military service.”
