VVA Chapter Memorial Finds a Winter Home

The Michigan Vietnam Veteran Traveling Memorial is on the road nearly 34 weeks out of the year. This beautiful memorial has the names of 2, 654 soldiers from Michigan who were killed in Vietnam, 49 of which are still recorded as missing.

The memorial has black and white panels with the name, branch, hometown, and rank of each Michigan solider that lost their life in the war. It is owned by VVA Chapter 154 in Clinton Township , and is normally stored in the winter where nobody can see it.

Along with the memorial comes large reference books that hold photos, information, and even short biographies on every solider listed.

The Clinton Township Civic Center has offered to host the display for a few months during the winter. It will be open for visits during normal business hours until the display is put back on the road in mid-March.
