Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 1140 in Franklin, Tenn., recently received certification from VVA state and national bodies and named its first five-member board of directors and slate of officers in August.
“We needed 25 members to become certified,” chapter President Rich Krejsa told the Williamson Herald. “We have 94. It’s important to have a local chapter in this area, and we made it!”
Officers include Vice President Max Hixon, secretary Michael Moody, and treasurer Greg Conroy. The board includes Ron Bottomly, Jim Ferguson, Morley Levine, John Mather and John Mills.
“I’m super proud of the people who stepped forward to create this organization,” said Terry Yates, president of VVA’s Tennessee Council. “That was the easy part; now, the work begins.”
