Chapter 1030 to Award Scholarships

Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 1030 in Cumming, Ga., will award three $1,000 scholarships to graduating high school seniors in the area. This is the fourth year the chapter has awarded scholarships, which are available to any college-bound senior attending a Forsyth County high school who it the child, grandchild or great-grandchild of a U.S. military veteran.

Each scholarship is presented in memory of a Vietnam War combatant killed in action. “Our organization is truly pleased to once again be able to reward deserving students for scholastic achievement while we also honor the memory of our comrades-in-arms who fell in service to our nation,” chapter President Gary Goyette told the Forsyth Herald.
