Colors for the Cardinals

The Quad Cities Chapter 299 Honor Guard, augmented by Mississippi Valley Chapter 669 in Moline, IL , and the Mexican American Veterans Association, presented the nation’s colors August 27 at the St. Louis Cardinals home game against the Oakland Athletics in Busch Stadium. The Honor Guard has presented the colors at previous Cardinals games, as well as at Milwaukee Brewers and Chicago Bears games. Chapter 299 will continue this service next season, even though it entails a five-hour bus ride to St. Louis. In addition, chapter member Jim Bell will sing the National Anthem before the game.

Chapter 299 Honor Guard members in St. Louis: Jim Bell, Al Bradley, Tom Courtney, Dennis Johnson, Ken Madden, Leonard Madden, and Gary White, led by Jim Loveless. Chapter 669’s Fred Barks and MAVA’s Gunter Terronez were also present.
