Ron, a 30-year veteran of the U.S. Army, served his first tour of duty in 1966 with the 3rd Infantry Division, 1st BN, 10th Artillery, in the Federal Republic of Germany. From 1967-1968, Ron served with the 1st Infantry Division (The Big Red One) in Vietnam. In 1968, he served with the 5th Infantry Division DIVARTY at Ft Carson. A German linguist, Ron served from 1972-1977 with Army Security Agency, Berlin. From 1977-1980, he was stationed at Ft. Meade, Maryland; and from 1980-1996, he served as a Psychological Warfare Specialist with the 20th PSYOP Company’s Special Operations Command.
A VVA Life Member, Ron has served as President of the VVA Oregon State Council since 2012, and prior to that, as Secretary of the State Council. Additionally, he serves as President of VVA Chapter 271, a position he has held since 2004. Ron represents his fellow veterans as a delegate to the Oregon Department of Veterans Affairs and the United Veterans Groups of Oregon.
Ron, an illustrator and graphic artist, has designed several medallions to honor the service and sacrifice of America’s veterans and is editor of monthly newsletter for VVA Region 8.Send Email
