Joe Joined the Army in 1965; did his basic training at Fort Dix; attended Signal School at FT Monmouth (36H20); and shipped out to Hanau, Germany. He returned home in August 1968.
In 1989, Joe joined VVA and VVA Chapter 480, serving as Secretary, Vice President, and later as President. He assisted in the foundation of VVA Chapter 803 and served as the interim President.
Joe then attended VVA Service Rep School in 1995 and continues to serve as a veterans’ service representative. In 1996, he was appointed as the New York State Council Central District Director, a position he held until 2004. Additionally, in 1996, Joe served as the Region II Disciplinary Chair. When he relocated to North Carolina in 2005, he organized and served as President of VVA Chapter 966 from 2006 to 2010. He assisted in creating VVA Chapters 1022, 1033, and 1103.
Joe served as North Carolina State Council President from 2008 until June 2014. He currently serves on the VVA National Veterans Benefits Committee and the VVA National Membership Committee. He has been married for 46 years and has four sons, two of are career military (Marine & Navy Seabee).Send Email
