Dennis Andras served in Vietnam in the 101st Airborne Division with the 2/502 Inf. from 1969-1971.
He is a life member of Vietnam Veterans of America and the Associates of Vietnam Veterans of America. He served as President of the Louisiana State Council from 2006-2012, Vice President of the Louisiana State Council from 1998-2006, on the Louisiana State Council finance committee, and as both the Vice President and President of Chapter 533.
Dennis currently serves on two National Committees: the Agent Orange Committee as assistant vice co-chair and the Economic Opportunities Committee; he also serves on the Veterans Against Drugs task force. He has lobbied on Capitol Hill on behalf of Veterans issues. At the State level, Dennis is the Constitutional Chair, President of the State Foundation, and on the Board of Directors for Chapter 553. He is also on the Board of Directors of the Louisiana Medal of Honor Park.
He has been honored by the Governor of the State of Louisiana and the Plaquemine Parish President for his work on behalf of Veterans affairs and issues.
Dennis has been married to his wife, Kathy, for 42 years. Together they have two sons, one of whom is an Iraqi war veteran.
