Chapter 885 of Wilmington, NC is assisting people who have gotten ill from contaminated water at Camp Lejeune with applying for their benefits.
On a Saturday in June, chapter members taught veterans and their families how to submit a claim and receive compensation from the VA.
In March, veterans and their families who were exposed to the contaminated water are eligible for disability benefits up to $2 million.
Through VVA’s work in advocating for benefits stemming from harmful substances, members are familiar with and are able to assist others with submitting evidence of their medical diagnoses and service information.
