At the annual Nebraska Vietnam Veterans Reunion in Omaha, NE over 100 veterans and their family and friends learned about the effects of Agent Orange through a ‘Faces of Agent Orange’ session.
Agent Orange chairman for Vietnam Veterans of America, Maynard Kaderlik, gave facts and lead personal anecdotes on the possible side effects from the dioxin-laden chemical on the health of the descendants of Vietnam veterans.
Attendees have family members with ailments such as a cleft palate, heart problems, and problems with female sex organs, to name a few.
Kaderlik urged the attendees to file a claim with Veterans Affairs in the event a familial link is discovered, saying it would be easier to receive back payments.
The VVA continues to lobby Congress to fund the study of the next-generation effects of Agent Orange.
