Have a Happy (Virtual) Vietnam Veterans Day

Sunday, March 29, is National Vietnam War Veterans Day! VVA wishes you a happy and safe holiday. Unfortunately, most Vietnam Veterans of America events have been canceled or postponed to slow the spread of COVID-19 this year. Veterans can still participate in virtual recognitions, however.

VVA invited the veterans and well-wishers to post photos, poems, artwork and music on its Facebook page, and will award a prize to the one with the most likes. On March 29, veterans are invited to share their service photos on the page, and on March 30, they can share their favorite C-Ration recipe; the entry with the most likes will win a prize.

Veterans and those wishing to show their appreciation can download the VA’s photo frames for use in posting photos to Facebook. Also, the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund will stream a commemoration online on March 29 and host written messages of thanks at its Facebook page.

Finally, living U.S. veterans who served at any time from Nov. 1, 1955, to May 15, 1975, are eligible to receive a lapel pin. With pinning ceremonies will be canceled indefinitely, the Vietnam War Commemoration encourages eligible veterans to submit requests for pins via email to receive them by mail.
