Cumming Chapter is Addressed by Captain Wallace A. Jackson in New Meetingplace

The Cumming Chapter of the VVA recently moved to a new meeting venue. Their regular meetings are now held at the Georgia National Guard Readiness Center in Cumming, GA.

Their first meeting was kicked off with a special guest, Army Captain Wallace A. Jackson IV. Jackson spoke to VVA members about his experience as chaplain to the Army’s 5th Ranger Training Battalion. In this position, he is a support to troops enduring some of the most intense training that can be found anywhere in the military.

Veterans from any branch of military, from any time period can relate to the feelings of exhaustion and dedication that each and every troop faces. Jackson discussed how soldiers aspiring to become Rangers have to complete training that can be mentally and physically fatiguing.

As chaplain, Jackson was able to trace his role back to General George Washington. His experiences now have deep roots that many of the VVA members can relate to.
