Chapter 882 Leads Memorial Day Observances
Vietnam Veterans of America (VVA) Chapter 882 participated in Memorial Day observances in Whittemore and Hale, Mich., May 24–27, as part of the Hale Area Veterans Honor Guard.
With members of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 7435 and American Legion Post 422, the Honor Guard delivered a gun salute and played Taps in recognition of fallen service members at an observance in Whittemore. A parade and other festivities followed.
The Honor Guard then participated in Hale’s Memorial Day parade on May 27, leading a ceremony featuring the national anthem, a gun salute, Taps and a roll call of the names of all veterans laid to rest at the local cemetery.
