Chapter 850 Members Talk About Canine Assistance

Veteran Service Dogs

Vietnam Veterans of America Kent County Chapter 850 members Ken Bodine, Ray Harris, Joe Startt and Danny Watson recently attended a Dover (Del.) Chapter of the Military Officers Association of America (MOAA) dinner to speak about its Canines Assisting Service Heroes (CASH) program. The veterans brought a service dog in training to the event.

CASH procures, trains and provides service dogs to veterans of the armed forces who suffer from PTSD, traumatic brain injuries, amputations and other disabilities. The love given and received by these dogs changes lives, the veterans said, by providing emotional support, and CASH trains and places the dogs free of charge.
