Chapter 805 Displays Traveling Wall

Vietnam Veterans of America Umpqua Valley Chapter 805 brought the Oregon Vietnam Veterans Traveling Memorial to the Deschutes Historical Museum Aug. 3–4. The Deschutes Pioneer Association and the Deschutes County Historical Society sponsored the weekend appearance.

The Oregon Memorial Traveling Wall is a replica of the Vietnam Memorial Wall in Washington, D.C. The wall is unique among traveling walls in that its six panels not only list Oregonians killed in Vietnam, but also in Panama, Beirut, Iraq, Afghanistan. and the global war on terror. It is updated annually.

Bend’s Band of Brothers presented the colors at an opening ceremony.
