Chapter 623 Participates in Wreaths Across America

Vietnam Veterans of America Tri-State Chapter 623 helped place wreaths at Veterans Park in Matamoras, Pa., on Dec. 15 — one of more than 1,100 Wreaths Across America observances held nationwide to honor those who have served.

Wreaths were placed at individual monuments as well as to honor each branch of the military and prisoners of war; four wreaths were placed to honor early Americans who served in the Revolutionary War and Indian Wars. Maine’s Worcester Wreath Company has provided the wreaths for Wreaths Across America since its launch in 2007.

Because of those who served and the many who ultimately sacrificed, Americans are able to “live in freedom and without fear,” chapter member Linda Kozak told the News-Eagle. The wreaths are a symbol of honor, she said, to those who have served and continue to “endure sacrifices every day on our behalf.”
