Vietnam Veterans of America Michael J. Novosel MOH Chapter 542 again hosted its regular Central Pennsylvania Vietnam Round Table on Oct. 10 in Harrisburg. Craig Williamson, a Vietnam veteran from Carlisle discussed his experiences as a platoon leader for the 4th Infantry Division’s Charlie Company/2nd/35th in 1968 and 1969.
Williamson was drafted into the Army in 1966 and graduated from Engineer OCS before landing at Fort Leonard Wood, Mo., as a training officer. After serving in the central highlands of Vietnam, he was awarded the Combat Infantryman’s Badge, the Bronze Star, and an Air Medal.
After discharge, Williamson worked in sales and sales management for more than 40 years. He now volunteers with Vets Journey Home, Weekend Retreats for Veterans and the ManKind Project.
