Chapter 542 Hosts Moores at Roundtable

Vietnam Veterans of America Michael J. Novosel MOH Chapter 542 held a Central Pennsylvania Vietnam Round Table on Sept. 12 in Harrisburg, featuring recollections from Doug and Debby Moore of Haymarket, Va.

Doug Moore served two tours from 1964–1965 and 1968–1969. He received numerous awards, including the Distinguished Service Cross, Distinguished Flying Cross, Bronze Star, Purple Heart and Air Medal. He later wrote a memoir of his 30 years in the military.

Debby graduated from San Francisco State University and joined the Army’s Special Services Program, which employed female college graduates to run recreation centers for enlisted personnel. At 21, she became the youngest woman to run a center in Vietnam, ultimately serving two tours.
