Chapter 380 Sponsors Golf Outing

Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 380 was among dozens of sponsors for the 24th Annual D.J. Jacobetti Home for Veterans Golf Outing in K.I. Sawyer, Mich., July 12. All open spots filled up quickly, according to SportsHeadlines News, and all money raised will go directly to supporting veterans at the home.

“Today is a blessing,” said Ryan Engle, commandant of the home. “All of the money we raised today will go directly back to support the work that we do with our members. It doesn’t go to paying electric bills or salaries, it goes back into things like dentures and other medical costs for the veterans we serve.”

Major sponsors included the American Legion, Marquette County Steelworkers, and the VFW State Department-15th District. Other sponsors included Chassell VFW Post 6507, DAV Cloverland Chapter 23, Marquette County DAV Auxiliary 22, Northern Michigan University, and a variety of local businesses.

“It’s incredible to see this outpouring of support,” Engle said.
