Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 274 recently thanked dozens of supporters for making its Toys for Kids program a huge success. The program gives gifts to hundreds of needy children around Cheboygan County (Mich.) every year during the holidays.
“The chapter would like to express its appreciation and give a big thank-you to those who continue to give their support to our Toys for Kids Program,” Tracy Heath, chapter treasurer, told the Cheboygan Tribune.
Special thanks went to the Associates of the VVA Chapter 274, Cheboygan Area Schools, which allows the group to manage Toys for Kids program from West Side Elementary School, and Jackie Meyers, who knits hats and gloves for the children.
Black River Sand and Gravel, the Kiwanis Club of Cheboygan, Cheboygan Moose Lodge, Cheboygan Walmart, Walstrom Marine, American Legion Post 95, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3623, Cheboygan County employees, Bliss Bunch and the Roundabouts Club also offer their support every year.
The chapter also thanked contributors LaHaie’s Labor Day Bridge Walk, Michael’s Tavern and Steakhouse, Tom Smith, Eric Reid, and Christine Leach, as well as Home Depot, Lowe’s and Meijer of Petoskey, for allowing it to help as many children as possible.
