Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 274 presented a POW/MIA ceremony at the fifth annual Veterans Appreciation Dinner in Cheboygan, Mich. Hundreds of local veterans were honored at the event, which featured a free dinner and presentations from veterans service organizations including the American Legion and VFW. Marine Cpl. Bill Price, a Vietnam veteran, played the National Anthem on the harmonica.
This event was sponsored and staged by VVA and the Boy Scouts of America, Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion, Rotary Club, Kiwanis Club, VVA Associates, Lions Club and Lionesses, and the Cheboygan County Veterans Service Office. A slide show was presented during the dinner featuring photos of many of the veterans when they were in the military.
“This is our fifth year of doing this and recognizing our veterans,” said emcee Dale Clarmont, Cheboygan County and Army Command Sergeant Major. “They are the heroes among us.”
