Chapter 203 Recognizes Surviving Spouses

Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 203 in Chattanooga, Tenn., is participating in a new Department of Defense (DOD) program recognizing the spouses of deceased veterans from the Vietnam era.

The Deceased Vietnam Veteran’s Surviving Spouse certificate and lapel pin were created by DOD to recognize the surviving spouse of anyone who gave their lives in active duty in the U.S. Armed Forces between Nov. 1, 1955 and May 15, 1975. “Service, Family and Sacrifice” are inscribed on the pin.

Pins will be available at Chapter 203 meetings and Vietnam Wall appearances, and the recipients will be pinned by a member of the Chief John Ross Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR). Contact Jessica M. Dumitru, Regent of the Chief John Ross Chapter, for more information: jmdumitru@gmail.com.
