Chapter 106 Receives Donation From Empower Coalition

The Empower Coalition, a nonprofit dedicated to improving lives in the greater Tucson, Ariz., area, recently awarded $140,000 in donations to local nonprofits that assist military veterans such as Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 106. Much of the money was raised through Empower’s annual Tucson Beefsteak Dinner fundraiser.

A $75,000 check went to Honor Flight of Southern Arizona, which provides veterans with trips to Washington, D.C., to visit military memorials, and $10,000 went to the YMCA of Southern Arizona and the Military Order of the Purple Heart. Some 15 additional veterans groups shared the remaining $45,000.
