The two honorees are “truly dedicated to both our organization and its focus on assisting homeless veterans in the Atlanta area and North Georgia,” said chapter President Gary Goyette at a Dec. 7 ceremony. They personify the VVA motto, “Never Again Will One Generation of Veterans Abandon Another.”
Chapter 1030 Names Two Veterans of the Year
Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 1030 in Cumming, Ga., announced it will honor two members, Tom Kirby and Steve Masak, as Veteran of the Year. Kirby served in Vietnam 1967–1968 as a Navy Corpsman in Cam Rahn Bay. Masak was stationed in Vietnam from 1969–1970, and served as an Army helicopter pilot with the 119th Assault Helicopter Company.
