Chapter 1015 Color Guard Holds Flag Ceremony

The Color Guard of Vietnam Veterans of America Plateau Chapter 1015 conducted a flag-folding ceremony on July 24 for residents of the Good Samaritan Society in Fairfield Glade, Tenn., July 24.

After residents listened to a selection of patriotic music form the Plateau Brass Quintet, the Color Guard performed a flag-folding ceremony, and member Russ Surbrook spoke about the symbolism behind the 12 folds. When the flag is completely folded, the stars are uppermost, reminding us of our national motto, “In God We Trust,” he noted.

The Plateau Brass Quintet then performed “The Star Spangled Banner” and the “Armed Forces March,” recognizing each military branch.
