Region 2 Director

Ted Wilkinson enlisted in the U.S. Army August 1969 and was honorably discharged in 1972. He served two tours in Vietnam with the 20th Engineer Brigade and Engineer Command.

 

Ted’s life changed dramatically last year when his charming wife of forty years passed on May 30, 2018.

 

Ted has served many ways in his twenty years with VVA: New York State delegate, 2002 to present; New York State Western District Director from 2006-16; New York State Membership Affairs Committee Chairman 2008-present; Current VVA Region 2 Director representing Delaware, New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania; Member of VVA National POW/MIA Committee; Member of VVA National Veterans Against Drugs Committee; and Member of VVA National Membership Affairs Committee.

 

Some lifetime achievements are: Founder and President of New York State Wyoming County Joint Veterans Council from 2007-15; Member of Automotive Hall of Fame located in Midland, Mich.; and Member of New York State Veterans Hall of Fame

 

His military awards include: Good Conduct Medal; Army Commendation Medal; Two Bronze Star Medals, his second Bronze Star for Valor during the Easter Offensive in Binh Thuy; Vietnam Campaign Ribbon; Vietnam Service Ribbon with Four Campaign Stars; Expert Marksman Badge; Conspicuous Service Cross (New York State’s highest award for combat valor); and New York State Council Vietnam Veterans of America Distinguished Service Award.

 

In memory of my loving wife Nyla. I would not be here without her.
