Region 7 Director

Dennis J Andras

Region 7 Director

I’m a decorated combat veteran serving in Vietnam with the 101st Airborne Division, 2/502 Infantry as a Forward Observer and Reconnaissance Sergeant, 1969-71. Married for forty-eight years and have two sons, one of which is an Iraqi War Veteran.

I have held these positions in VVA: Region 7 Director, Louisiana State Council President and Vice President, and Chapter President and Vice President. Also I have co-chaired two National committees: Agent Orange and Economic Opportunities. Not to mention that I have lobbied on Capitol Hill many times on behalf of veterans issues. Recently appointed by the Governor of Louisiana to the Louisiana Department of Veterans Affairs as a member of the Military Assistance Foundation Board as a Director.

We in VVA are at a turning point in our history as an organization at this next National Convention. We cannot afford the excuses and the mistakes of the past; we only have one chance at getting this right. We need someone who has the experience and the ability to carry out the will of Region 7. We need someone who will vote as directed by Region 7 delegates and State Council Presidents; we need someone who will faithfully perform the duties all the time as a Regional Director! We need someone who has business experience which I have, as a past owner of two corporations that at one time employed over seventy-five personnel, with a multimillion-dollar payroll annually.

I would appreciate your consideration and your vote.
