Four decades veterans advocate, serving in positions of leadership and team member.

VVA Life Member, established Utah’s Chapter 1079 and Utah State Council. Served as Chapter President and current Utah State Council President.

2016, President Rowan appointed me Chair, VVA National Public Affairs Committee. The committee created the JROTC Cadet Medal program and the new Eagle Scout Medal; focus-VVA legacy. Serve on the VVA Government Affairs and POW/MIA Committees.

Marine nearly eight years, Vietnam in 1966 and 1967. VFW Life member. Retired federal employee. Retired from area school district.

Veterans Service: Chair, Project Development, Fundraising, and Construction of Utah’s Replica Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall, dedicated July 14, 2018. Member: Utah Governor’s Veterans and Military Affairs Commission, County Veterans Advisory Committee. Spearheaded five pieces of legislation with a State Representative to honor Vietnam veterans. Served three years on the Utah Governor’s Veterans Advisory Council. Originated Northern Utah Vietnam Veterans Welcome Home Parade.

Served on the Construction Oversight Committee for Northern Utah Veterans Home. Veterans Home Advisory Council, six years. Work with South Vietnamese Community to honor U.S. Veterans, worked with publisher/producer of book  Time To Honor and documentary Journey Home for Vietnam veterans, and brought back the Veterans Parade to Northern Utah after a fifty-year absence. Past Utah VFW Commander.

 

Awards: Utah Governor’s Veterans Service Award, Utah State Elks Citizen of the Year, Myers Veteran Service Award, England Corporation Honored Veteran, Utah Veterans Home Distinguished Veteran.
