At-Large Director

Charles R. Montgomery, Jr.

At-Large Director

Life Member of Chapter 969, residing in Virginia Beach, Virginia, I first joined VVA in January 1987. I have been actively involved since that time. I have served as Director At-Large, Region 3 Director, and National Membership Committee Chair. I served as the Chair of the Conference of State Council Presidents for six terms and have served as the State Council President of Virginia since 1995. I also served two terms with the Vietnam Veterans Assistance Fund. I feel I have a lot of knowledge and enthusiasm to offer our organization and can best serve you by having your voice at the National table. I have devoted much of my time and energy at all levels to this organization. We have many more important issues of concern. I am a very devoted and committed individual and want to do the best I can for our organization.

I proudly served in the U.S. Army with the 173d Airborne Brigade in Vietnam from 1969-70. I finished my military service with the 82nd Airborne Division from 1970-71. Since that time I have retired from the City of Norfolk with forty years of service. I am happily married to my wife Nancy.

I promise to continue to serve you as diligently as I have in past years. Let’s build a strong organization together as a team. There is one reflection I have from one of our past Presidents: Be true to yourself and be true to the ones you serve.
