Covid 19 Health Advisory

IMPORTANT UPDATE: Should these new COVID-19 requirements cause those already registered to cancel their previous delegate registration, VVA will return their paid convention fees. Conversely, should these new, enhanced COVID-19 prevention actions permit you to now attend the convention as a registered delegate, VVA will consider extending the early registration fees.

CONVENTION PRE-ENTRY and PRE-REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS

Upon arrival at the VVA National Convention site, all attendees must provide proof they are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or they have tested negative for COVID-19 no more than 24 hours prior to arrival. This applies to all delegates, guests, spouses, caregivers, vendors, staff, and accompanying parties. You must show one one the following:
  •  A) Your Official Vaccination Card

OR

  • B) Proof of a Negative COVID-19 test, taken no more than 24 hours prior to your arrival, that documents you do not have the COVID-19 virus.

  • You will be required to sign the VVA Coronavirus/COVID-19 Statement of Understanding and Agreement, which will be provided at registration. View the agreement here.
  • Face masks must be worn when indoors, regardless of vaccination status. This is for all business establishments and public places, as mandated for all persons throughout Guilford County, N.C.
  • Physical distancing of six feet will be observed at all times, in all convention venues.
  • Handshaking, touching or hugging is discouraged; however, alternative methods of contactless greeting are encouraged.

Contact Tracing

    • Attendees may voluntarily access and participate in SlowCOVIDNC (App) which will notify you of contact with any person that later tests positive for COVID-19.

November 2-6, 2021, Vietnam Veterans of America and Associates of Vietnam Veterans of America will hold their Biennial  Convention to elect new leadership, review the organizational constitution, and handle other organization business. This year, the convention will visit scenic Greensboro, NC.

Centrally located in North Carolina’s picturesque heartland, Greensboro is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the entertainment after a long day on the convention floor, deciding the future work of VVA. Should you venture from the hotel, check out the red pandas and sharks at the Greensboro Science Center, or visit the Guilford Courthouse National Military Park to update your knowledge of Revolutionary War history. Greensboro has a lot to offer, including a wide range of cuisine to sample, from Southern-style home cooking to ethnic cuisine. Enjoy the camaraderie!

More than 1,200 visitors are expected at the VVA & AVVA 2021 National Convention, with exhibitors representing commercial firms, government agencies, VVA state councils, and VVA & AVVA chapters offering goods and services of interest to member veterans. Past exhibitors have included travel agencies, veterans’ publications, insurance agencies, the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), and numerous VVA & AVVA chapters and state councils.
