New York VVA Chapters Donate to Memorial for Security Cameras

VVA Chapter 681 recently made donations to a local veteran memorial in honor of Vietnam veteran Francis “Frank” Daniel Zuhlke, who died October 2015. Zuhlke was a life member of Chapter 681, and this donation was to honor him and his service as a door gunner on a helicopter gunship in Vietnam.

The memorial located in Veterans Park in Youngstown, NY, was severely vandalized at the end of 2014. In order to repair damages, upwards of $6, 500 was required. The chapters had received donations made in Zuhlke’s name. Those donations, with the chapter’s additional funds, totaled $600 for the memorial.

The chapter hopes that its donation can be incentive for the community to look into adding security cameras to the memorial for additional security.
