Chapter 812 Displays Wall at Festival

West Virginia Mobile Wall

Chapter 812 gave visitors to the 81st Mountain State Forest Festival in Elkins, WV a chance to see the West Virginia Mobile Wall.

The chapter worked the West Virginia State Council to display the memorial bearing the names of all 736 West Virginians who died in combat and POW/MIAs in the Vietnam War. The 30 foot long memorial was located in City Park near Davis & Elkins College.

The Wall was brought to the Festival in order to educate the community about the sacrifices of our veterans.

The West Virginia Mobile Wall has been previously displayed in other noteworthy occasions throughout the Wild and Wonderful state, including a Strawberry Festival in May, in Lewis County as part of a Patriotic Ride, and the Gold Star Family Weekend in Preston County in September.

Staying true to the VVA motto, ‘never again will one generation of veterans abandon another’, Chapter 812 plans to create a standalone wall panel for KIA, POW, and MIA West Virginians from more recent conflicts.
