Members of Chapter 268 of Niagara County, NY gathered at Niagara Hospice on Monday to place a holiday wreath at the organization’s veterans memorial.

According to Gordon Bellinger, chapter treasurer, this is the second year Chapter 268 has placed a wreath on the memorial. Placement was preceded by a brief prayer.

“To our past veterans with this holiday wreath, may it say to those who have served our country before and with us, thank you, ” Bellinger repeated. “Bless you and rest in peace.”

Recently, Chapter 268 began tracking the veterans who died in Niagara County. Eleven Vietnam veterans died at Hospice House over the past few months, according to Bellinger.

VVA contributed $1, 500 toward installation of the memorial and has assisted Hospice when asked ever since.
