Chapter 1091 Memorializes Sole Vietnam KIA

Chapter 1091 Barry Berger

Chapter 1091 recently convinced its City Council in Ocean City, MD to approve building a memorial in front of City Hall in honor of Barry Berger, the only Ocean City native who died in the Vietnam War.

“There is an existing veterans memorial out front that is dedicated to veterans who lost their lives in World War II,” Chapter President Nelson Kelly said. “We would like to put a bronze plaque on a post next to that plaque.”

The chapter will raise all the funds for the memorial, which also will contain a small black granite bench, “a bench of reflection,” Kelly said.

The memorial is expected to be dedicated on March 30.
