Chapter 1036 Helped to Feed Over 100 Families During Holidays

VVA Chapter 1036 of The Villages, FL provided the Beyond the Walls Food Pantry in Fruitland Park, FL with the funding to supply meals to 130 families for Christmas. 

On December 15th, 11 members of the Chapter assembled bags of groceries for Christmas. The next day, the grocery bags of food were distributed throughout the community by local high school students.

There were 25 total chapter members who supported the Thanksgiving and Christmas efforts at the food pantry in an effort to support and reach out to their neighbors in The Villages.

Chapter 1036 has an ongoing relationship with Beyond the Walls including helping with Hurricane Irma relief efforts. The chapter continues to provide multiple types of support including financial support and preparing food for distribution.

Chapter 1036 is able to assist Beyond the Walls through its various sponsorships, funding from community supporters, and fundraising events such as a pancake breakfast and a golf tournament. In 2017, they collected and disbursed over $29,000 to local charities such as Toys for Tots, Southeast Guide Dogs, Operation Helping Hand, and many others.
