Pentagon Opens Vietnam War Exhibit

The Department of Defense officially opened an exhibit at the Pentagon yesterday (December 20, 2016) honoring American military personnel who served during the Vietnam War. Former U.S. Senator and Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel, a Vietnam War veteran, was on hand to take part in the exhibit’s formal opening .

“Today’s unveiling and the government-wide commemoration that accompany it are an important part of our commitment to honor veterans from Vietnam and their families, for service, for valor, for sacrifice, ” Defense Secretary Ash Carter said.

The hallway exhibit contains large models of Huey helicopters and other war depictions. It is part of the congressionally mandated Vietnam War 50th Anniversary commemoration.
