The Memorial Day Writers Project will hold its 25th biannual reading on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., on Memorial Day, Monday May 28, from 11:30 am to 5:30 pm.
The Project’s tent will be set up behind the sidewalk near 20th Street and Constitution Avenue not far from the Vietnam Veterans Memorial. Organizers ask authors who plan to read to bring extra copies of their books to sell.
“This is our 25th year on the Mall where we honor our veterans by celebrating and recalling their experiences through prose, poetry and song,” the project’s coordinator, Dick Epstein, said. “Tell a few friends and join us as we share our memories of good times and hard times in service to our country.”
