Latest Veterans Documentary Corps Doc

Documentary filmmaker John Giannini has just finished his latest project, a short film on Jack Lyon, who served two tours as a Marine platoon commander in Vietnam—and who took part in VVA’s Founding National Convention. Lyon (above ), after overcoming a rocky homecoming, joined with four other veterans to form Vietnam Veterans of San Diego, now known as Veterans Village of San Diego.

The group’s mission is to help restore the lives of all veterans in need. Its main mission is providing physical and spiritual support to combat-injured Marines at Balboa Naval Medical Center.

Giannini made the film with the help of the Veteran Documentary Corps, which was founded by Daniel Bernardi, an Iraq war veteran who is a Professor of Cinema at San Francisco State University.
