The Twin Cities (Minnesota) Chapter of the National Writers Union and the PeaceMakers of Macalester Plymouth Church are co-sponsoring an event called “Then and Now: Vietnam, 40 Years Later: What Have We Learned?”
The event—a combination of poetry, stories, music, art, and discussion—takes place tonight, Tuesday, November 12, at 7:00 p.m. at the Macalester Plymouth Church in St. Paul, Minnesota.
“The point of this event is to bring people together who want to share experiences through art that relate to the Vietnam War, the human rights and anti-war movements that started in the context of that war and the ramifications of those issues in today’s world, ” Rob Ramer, one of the event’s organizers, told us.
“The goal is also to set up an ongoing project to remember lessons from the Vietnam War and to have periodic events leading up to the 40th anniversary of the fall of South Vietnam.”
